Deliciously Bent
This is my current favorite DVD series. It's so absurd a premise and so beyond the pale of most cartoon series out there these days, that it has infinite appeal to both my sixteen year old son and to me. Our dynamic trio and their next door Jersey neighbor, the tank top wearing Carl, are the funniest toon characters in Television land. That's saying a lot as television is currently witnessing a true renaissance of cartoon humor.
The creators are the same crew that brought us the equally silly, but cutting edge SPACEGHOST COAST TO COAST. The same sort of hip, off colour humor that informed that show is at play here, only more so. My favorite segment involves a manic depressive, deadbeat, suicidal doll who has a negative, lifeforce-draining impact on all who come in contact with him. Other highlights include a pair of aliens who look as if they've escaped from some crude '70s Atari game. The punk talking little alien, err, is particularly amusing.

A Cartoon Treat...
No description of any kind would make someone take this show seriously, for it sounds infinitely silly and stupid, but in truth, it just works. "Aqua Teen Hunger Force" is, without a doubt, the funniest and most creative show on Cartoon Network`s "Adult Swim" cartooning block (a series of cartoon shows made for teenagers and adults that can take more risks than normal programming). It follows the misadventures of 3 six-foot-tall living foods: Master Shake, the leader of the Aqua Teens and a milkshake, Frylock, the rational one and a bunch of french fries, and Meatwad, a very... unintelligent wad of meat and the object of many a prank set up by Master Shake. They live next to Karl, an overweight man reliving the 80s who hates it when they use his pool. When they are not getting into situations on their own, they are battling anything out-of-the-ordinary, from a living, suicidal and depressed toy of Meatwads, to a juvenile rapper named "MC Pee Pants" to a pair of 2D aliens known as the...
You've tamed him with your greasy dance of joy
Aqua Teen Hunger Force ('ATHF') is one of the funniest things I've ever seen. Starring late on night on the Cartoon Network's 'Adult Swim', ATHF centers around a narcissistic milkshake, Master Shake, a genius batch of frenchfries with super powers, Frylock, and a sizzling ball of hamburger meat, Meatwad. The three form a detective agency/squad (The Aqua Teen Hunger Force, natch) and noisily "solve" mysterious events, much to the continued annoyance of their pot-bellied and 'self-employed' neighbor Carl. Sound bizarre? You have no idea. ATHF is some sort of sick, demented combination of Super Friends, South Park, and all those unintentionally creepy cartoons from the early 80s like The Snorks. Read: it rocks.
This series is one of the most consistently entertaining, funny, and quotable I've ever seen. Each episode starts with some sort of bizarre creation or device either escaping from or otherwise being generated at the lab of Dr. Wierd in his castle on the New Jersey shore...
